THE APPLICATION OF BIOTECHNOLOGY IN FRESHWATER AQUACULTURE MODELS AT CAN THO UNIVERSITY
- In recent years, the Vietnam aquaculture industry has achieved remarkable progress, yet it still faces many challenges such as environmental pollution, disease outbreaks, and production sustainability.
- During an exchange session with students of Can Tho University, MSc. Tran Hoang Tuan shared practical insights on biotechnology applications to address these issues. He emphasized:
“In the face of current challenges, biotechnology is the solution that offers significant and practical benefits for the aquaculture sector in particular and agriculture in general.”
- The solutions introduced included:
+ Application of digestive probiotics and environmental treatment probiotics
+ Orientation for antibody and vaccine applications in aquaculture
+ Practical experiences from current farming models
- The exchange session was lively, with many questions from students directed to the speaker. Notably, many expressed their desire to accompany VIBO in the future.
- VIBO believes that with dedication and a strong willingness to learn, today’s young generation will become important contributors to building a more modern and sustainable aquaculture industry in the years ahead.
